How can I book festival tickets?
Online
Online booking is available 24/7 on this website.
By Phone
You can book your ticket by calling 0131 226 0006. The booking line is open Monday–Friday,10am-5pm.
Payment can be taken by credit or debit card for online and phone bookings. All tickets must be paid for at the time of placing the order. We cannot reserve tickets for any event.
In Person
You can purchase tickets from 180 High Street, Monday-Friday 10am-5pm until the 19th December.
The festival box office will open at Church Hill Theatre from Monday 23 December but we cannot guarantee there will be availability for every event as we anticipate some events will sell out before this time.
How can I pay for my tickets?
Credit and debit card payments can be made online, by phone and at the festival box office.
All tickets must be paid for at the time of placing the order. We cannot reserve tickets for any events.
Are there any booking fees?
We charge on a per order basis to keep our booking fees as low as possible. Our booking fees are £1.00 per ticket, up to £3 per transaction and apply to online, telephone and in person.
Please note that booking fees are a cost incurred for processing the tickets and are non-refundable.
Are any discounts available?
Some Magic Festival events offer Concession and/or Child tickets. These will be available to purchase alongside Full Price tickets if available.
General concession prices are applicable to full-time students, customers with disabilities, senior citizens (65+) and children under the age of 16.
If a Child ticket is listed, this is for those under 16.
What if I have access requirements?
For visitors that require a support worker or personal assistant, a complimentary ticket is available.
To book a free personal assistant ticket please contact our box office on 0131 226 0006.
Please note that free personal assistant tickets only include admission to the event and any associated catering, books or other goods which are included in the full ticket price are not applicable.
Are refunds or exchanges available?
All tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, with the exception of a cancelled event, which will be refunded within 28 days.
The festival reserves the right to change event line-ups and content may be subject to change. Refunds will not be issued if the event is still taking place.
Lost or stolen tickets are non-refundable.
No refunds or discounts will be given for a whole or partial event(s)not attended.
Can I reserve a seat?
Seating at the Church Hill Theatre is reserved, and you will be able to choose your seats when you book online, over the phone, or in person.
Seating for all other events in the festival will be unreserved.
The Magic Festival reserves the right to reserve seating for invited guests, press and visitors with access requirements.
What time can I enter the event?
Ticket checking and entry to all events will vary between the different venues, but we recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the advertised start time.
Latecomers may not be permitted entry, or may be held until a suitable break in the performance.
Are there luggage/cloakroom facilities?
There will be no storage facilities for luggage or coats at any of our venues during the festival.
Can I bring children?
Please adhere to the age range specified for events at the Magic Festival.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible person aged 18 or over,
Where permitted, any child over the age of 2 needs their own seat to any of our events.
Children under the age of two can sit on their parent’s lap unless otherwise stated.
How do I receive my tickets?
Tickets are emailed to you after purchase. The email will contain a QR code which is required to be scanned by the Front of House staff at the venue.
In your e-ticket you will find an Apple and Google Wallet link for each performance booked. When viewing your e-ticket on a suitable mobile device, just click the relevant option and it will load the e-ticket to your wallet.
If you do not have a smartphone or access to a printer, please call us on 0131 226 0006 or email boxoffice@magicfest and we can send out the printed confirmation email in the post for a £1.50 charge.
